PROGRAM FOR INDEPENDENT WORKERS
Qualified workers have four programs to choose from:
Assured employment program
This program is intended for those who have received a job offer
from a Canadian employer.
Requirements:
The employer must obtain the approval of his offer from Human Resources
Development Canada and demonstrate that he/she was unable to recruit
a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant to fill the position.
Occupations in demand program
Requirements:
This program is intended for professionals who:
-
practice an occupation included on the list
of occupations in demand
-
have at least 6 months of work experience
-
have in their possession, upon their arrival
in Quebec, the minimum funds needed to support themselves for
the first three months
Employability and Occupational mobility
program
This program is intended for those who can adapt to the Canadian
employment market and is therefore the most chosen program by candidates.
Requirements:
Several factors are taken into consideration for the assessment
of your application. These include:

Training
-
Work experience
-
Age
-
Knowledge of French and English
-
Previous visits to or ties with Quebec
-
You must have at least 6 months of work experience
-
Upon your arrival in Quebec, you must have
in your possession sufficient funds to cover your expenses for
the first three months
Skilled worker Federal program
This program is intended for skilled workers with education and
work experience that will help them settle easily in Canada.
Requirements:

You must have at least one year of full-time
work experience
-
You must have been paid for this work
-
You must have had this experience within the
last 10 years
-
Your work experience must be specified in
the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC)
-
You must have enough money to support your
family for six months after you arrive in Canada
-
You must comply with other selection criteria
such as Education, Languages, Age, Arranged employment in Canada
and Adaptability.
Processing time: For independent workers
Visas, the processing time ranges from 6 to 18 months.
