To become a Canadian citizen, you must:

• Be 18 or older;
• Have a permanent Canadian residence;
• Have lived in Canada for at least 3 of the 4 preceding years before your request;
• Must be able to communicate in English or French;
• Have knowledge about Canada;
• Know the rights and responsibilities related to being a citizen.
